Welcome to Reception Class.
Summer baking (17th July 2017)
Today we had an end of the year treat because Wiktor’s mum, Joanna from Sweet Crumbs Cakery, came to teach us how to decorate our own summer cupcake! We followed her instructions to make a shell, sprinkle ‘sand’ and make a hat for Paddington Bear to have a lovely day on the beach! Our cakes looked fantastic at the end! Thank you Joanna!
Cooling down in the hot weather!
Today was the last day of term and it was very hot and sunny! Everyone was outside playing with water in different places, so to cool down, we worked together to build a paddling pool. We collected all the wooden blocks to make a rectangles, laid a tarpaulin over them then found some more heavy planks and blocks to hold it down. Then we filled it with the hose and spent the rest of the day adding water from different areas, talking about how to make the water warmer and colder and having lots of fun splashing around! By the afternoon some children decided to be ‘life guards’ to make sure everyone was following their rules!
Outdoor Learning and Risky Play Morning
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came along to our Outdoor Learning and Risky Play morning! It was lovely to see so many of you enjoying being outside and learning about how the children learn to be resilient, independent and risky learners. We hope you found this an informative and interesting session, the children loved bringing you along to the forest!

Philosophy for Children (P4C)
We have now started P4C sessions with the children. They already love thinking about “tricky questions”, telling each other their ideas and seeing if they agree or disagree with each other. Click below to see some examples of ‘Would you rather’ questions you could try at home:
